BBB Capital purchased The Surf Travel Company brand and assets ("STC") in November 2006. STC is one of the most recognised surf travel agencies in the world, having pioneered the industry's establishment. It provides dedicated surfing holidays for surfers and their families, specialising in such exotic locations as the Maldives, the Mentawai and Telo Islands, Bali, Lombok, Sumba, Sumbawa and West Timor in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Samoa, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, the Carolina Islands and Tahiti. BBB Capital, alongside State Capital, has invested development capital into a web-based interactive social networking and local community forum, with numerous other features and content including news, directories, local listings and other information services.
The concept is based around a network of franchises in local communities, being relevant to and serving their needs. The technology development has been successfully completed and three local franchises are now in development, with a national roll-out plan to follow.
